Development of a new approach to the production and compatibilization of polyester blends using hybrid organic-inorganic additives (siliCOMP)

Website: NCN Project Info Page

The siliCOMP project aims to develop novel, effective methods of biobased and biodegradable immiscible poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(ethylene furanoate) (PEF) blends compatibilization by tailoring dedicated functional nano additives based on silsesquioxanes (SQs) and processing procedures.

New perspectives for tetrafunctional double-decker silsesquioxanes as molecular scaffolds for reactive organic groups

Website: NCN Project info page

The main scientific goal of the project is to design selective methods for synthesising novel tetrafunctional double-decker silsesquioxane derivatives in which the Si-O-Si core is an anchor to four organic reactive groups (FG). As a result, a wide range of new molecular DDSQ-based derivatives will be developed which will serve as precursors for further transformations, incl. determination of their properties and reactivity.
