Prof. Joseph Furgal from the Department of Chemistry and Center for Photochemical Sciences, Bowling Green State University (USA) invited dr hab. Beata Dudziec to present results of our research group in an online seminar for Ph.D. students on 14th of April 2021 at 3:30 pm US EST. Beata Dudziec presented a lecture entitled “Functionalized silsesquioxanes as building blocks for organosilicon systems”.
The presentation included the aspects of synthesis of molecular and macromolecular silsesquioxane-based systems including both stoichiometric methods i.e. hydrolytic condensation and catalytic protocols, i.e. transmetalation, hydrosilylation, cross-metathesis, and our recent copper-mediated azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) and the properties of related frameworks that were based on our publications. The most interesting aspect that prof. Dudziec was asked for, were the characterization of the respective materials their properties, and also possible applications. All listeners were very pleased by participation in this seminar.
Congratulations! We hope that this lecture will be a good start for scientific cooperation with new friends from across the ocean 🙂
