68PTChem – Bydgoszcz 2026

From 14–18 September 2026, Bydgoszcz hosts the 68th Scientific Meeting of the Polish Chemical Society (68PTChem), one of the major annual events bringing together the Polish chemistry community. The meeting provides a platform for researchers, PhD candidates and students to present their latest results, exchange ideas and discuss current directions in chemistry, from new materials and sustainable development to analytical and biomedical applications.  We are delighted that our MSc students-to-be, BSc Karolina Zacłona and BSc Julia Zdunek, are representing our group at the conference. They presented their research in a poster contribution, sharing the results of their work and gaining valuable experience in scientific communication and discussion with the broader chemistry community.

A little chemistry, a little conference magic — and a great start to their next stage in research! ✨🧪

New review article: Click and Enjoy!

We are delighted to announce the publication of our new review article entitled “Click and Enjoy: Recent Developments in the Click Chemistry of Silsesquioxanes: Critical Assessment and Future Perspectives” in the Journal of Inorganic and Organometallic Polymers and Materials (Springer Nature). The paper was authored by our PhD student Julia Frąckowiak and Beata Dudziec and is available in open access.

Congratulations to Julia on her first review article! Continue reading →

2026 IFSC Symposium in Jinan, China

Delighted to have participated in the 2026 International Symposium on Innovation and Future Perspective in Silsesquioxane Chemistry in Jinan, China (July 18–24). Honoured to present my lecture, “Bridging Molecular Design and Macroscopic Behaviour in Silsesquioxanes,” highlighting our recent advances in organosilicon chemistry and functional hybrid materials. I was also proud that my colleague, Dr. Monika Rzonsowska, delivered the presentation “Click & Catch – from Silsesquioxane to Metallosupramolecular Complexes.” The symposium brought together many of the world’s leading experts in cage and silsesquioxane chemistry, incl. Prof.  Laine (USA), Prof. Unno (Japan), Prof. Oshita (Japan), Prof.Tanaka (Japan), Prof. Shim (South Korea), Prof. Kato (France) and Prof. Furgal (USA, online), creating an outstanding platform for inspiring discussions and future collaborations. Professor of Natural Sciences

I am delighted and deeply honoured to share that, by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland dated 19 June 2026, I was awarded the title of Professor of Natural Sciences in the discipline of Chemical Sciences.

This is an exceptionally important milestone for me and the culmination of many years of scientific, teaching, and organizational work. It would not have been possible without the support, collaboration, and commitment of many people — my mentors, colleagues, doctoral students, and students. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has accompanied and supported me throughout this journey.

New paper in J. Mater. Chem. A – Zn@tpy-POSS

We are pleased to share our latest publication in Journal of Materials Chemistry A entitled “Silsesquioxane-based κ³-N,N,N pincer platforms for stoichiometry-controlled Zn coordination and tuneable emission via a click-and-catch strategy.”  A new family of well-defined POSS-based tridentate pincer ligands designed for controlled Zn²⁺ coordination is presented.
Congratulations to all co-authors! Continue reading →

3rd Fr–PL Chemistry Congress in Paris

Last week, our Team Leader — Beata Dudziec— was happy to participate in the 3rd French–Polish Chemistry Congress in Paris— an exceptional meeting bringing together outstanding scientists from both countries — including world-renowned leaders in chemistry such as Nobel Laureate Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn, Prof. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, Prof. Paweł Kulesza and many other distinguished researchers shaping modern chemistry. It was a great pleasure to present our recent research—an invited lecture, “Structure–Property Relationships in Silsesquioxanes: From Molecular Scale to Macroscopic Performance” and exchange ideas with excellent scientists. 🧪✨ Continue reading →

Aleksandra Kaniewska – new MSc in our group

Today, 26 June 2026, Aleksandra Kaniewska was defending her master’s thesis entitled “Analysis of Photophysical Properties of Transition Metal Terpyridine Coordination Systems Anchored on Organosilicon Cages.” The work focused on the investigation of photophysical properties of hybrid transition-metal coordination systems based on terpyridine ligands anchored on organosilicon cage platforms. The thesis was reviewed by Prof. Jędrzej Walkowiak. This day was particularly special, as we also received the positive decision confirming the acceptance of Ola’s publication. It is a wonderful recognition of her work and a perfect way to celebrate this important academic milestone. Congratulations, Ola, on a successful defence, excellent preparation, and this fantastic publication achievement!
