In the beautiful scenery of Portuguese Venezia, in Aveiro, the 2nd International Conference on Nanomaterials Science and Mechanical Engineering took place. Three young scientists: mgr Julia Duszczak, mgr Katarzyna Mituła, and dr Monika Rzonsowska represented our Lab Team to report on the research results obtained thanks to financial support from National Science Centre: OPUS 14 – 2016/23/B/ST5/00201 and PRELUDIUM 14 – 2017/27/N/ST5/00175. The conference was preceded by the Workshop on Characterization and Analysis of Nanomaterials, where participants had the opportunity to learn about actual trends in the analysis of special materials and see analytical equipment at the University in Aveiro.

Thanks to National Science Centre and project PRELUDIUM 14 (UMO-2017/27/N/ST5/00175) Katarzyna Mituła had an opportunity to be a participant on “3^rd Edition of International Congress on Catalysis and Chemical Science (Catalysis 2019)” during March 11-12, 2019 in Singapore. This conference was the International platform that brought together scientists in the field of chemistry, catalysis and chemical science. The scientific program of the conference included 35 oral presentations. Katarzyna was presenting her research results on a poster presentation. Her work is on the synthesis of silsesquioxane derivatives (mono- and dialkenyl derivatives of double-decker silsesquioxanes) and their use in the modification of selected types of polysiloxanes.
