This year, from 11 to 16 September the 64th Scientific Congress of the Polish Chemical Society is being held in Lublin, Poland. After a two-year pandemic break the Congress takes place in a fully stationary manner. It is an excellent opportunity to meet chemists from all over the country, exchange experiences and scientific ideas, establish and maintain cooperation between research centers, etc. The 17 scientific sessions are taking place at the hospitable threshold of Maria Skłodowska-Curie University and it is a unique scientific and cultural event. Between 28th August and 1st September 2022, we participated in the 8th EuChemS Chemistry Congress (ECC8) that was held in Lisbon, Portugal. It was organized by The Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and was the 8th in a series that started in Hungary.
Three of our group members presented the results we obtained recently: Prof. UAM dr hab. Beata Dudziec (lecture), Dr Monika Rzonsowska (lecture) and MSc Aleksandra Mrzygłód (poster) were co-financed by NCN and Research University Excellence Initiative (ID-UB). Continue reading
18th July 2022 was the day when Filip Pakulski was defending his MSc Thesis entitled “The synthesis of functional silsesquioxanes as sensors of selected transition metals.”. It was performed remotely. There was a little bit of stress, as always, but finally, it went smoothly and we are proud to have promoted our next MSc student 😊

On 12th July 2022, the BSc Defences were performed. Our student Patrycja Opach was examined and she defended her BSc Thesis entitled “Synthesis and characterization of selected Schiff bases and their complexes with zinc”.

On 28th June 2022, we had a chance to participate in the PhD Defence of Kasia Mituła. It was a great pleasure to hear the main goals of Her PhD Thesis and the Reviewers’ positive comments. The dissertation was presented to be distinguished by the votes of Reviewers and Members of the Doctoral Committee.
