We have been hosting an Erasmus Student – Ilgaz Lara Toraman from Turkey, from the Faculty of Science, Eskisehir Technical University in Turkey. She is performing her 4-months Internship. Last week, we had a small welcome party to greet Lara in our Group and also to show her some places in the Old Market. Also, we visited the typically Polish restaurant “Bamberka” so that we could try the traditional cuisine of Poland and our region.

For the starter, the Bamber lard with pickle and homemade bread and of course Boiled potato with cottage cheese. For the main dish of course Duck with red cabbage and homemade yeast dumplings were the “must be and also Chicken roulade stuffed with regional cheese and spinach with herbal sauce, mashed potatoes and caramelized carrots – yummy 🙂

Lara has joined us in our Lab exploring “the tricky” chemistry of coordination complexes combined with silsesquioxanes.
